Join us at Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery for a fun morning of fishing at Belladona Pond! This beginner-friendly program will introduce you to the basics of fishing, including how to set up a fishing pole, how to cast, and how to safely handle a fish. Whether you’ve always wanted to try fishing or simply don’t know where to start, this program is a great way to learn the fundamentals in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We will meet at Belladona Pond, located across from Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery. All fishing poles and tackle will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own equipment if they prefer. Please wear closed-toes shoes or boots. Program is open to ages 5 and up. Children ages 5-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The accompanying adult must register for the program *only if* they plan to fish. Participants age 16 and up will need a valid Missouri Fishing License. This can be purchased online at https://mdc.mo.gov/permits, or at the Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Education Center front desk, in advance of the program.
