Meet at Wudchuk Run Trailhead in Swope Park! Join us for a leisurely two-hour guided hike through the beautiful woods of Swope Park Trails – Wudchuk Run Trailhead as we explore the fascinating world of trees and forest ecology. Along the trail, you'll learn how to identify common native tree species using leaves, bark, buds, and overall form while discovering how these trees interact with the plants, wildlife, fungi, and soils that make up a healthy forest ecosystem. We'll discuss forest succession, habitat, seasonal changes, and the ecological relationships that keep our woodlands thriving. This program is perfect for nature enthusiasts, hikers, gardeners, and anyone curious about the natural world. No prior experience is needed—just bring comfortable walking shoes, water, and a sense of curiosity. Come experience the forest with fresh eyes and gain a deeper appreciation for the trees that shape our local landscape. Easy to moderate activity level; trails may include uneven terrain.
