Additional Information: Instructed by:
Craft an ancient weapon. Master the throw. Challenge your friends. In this hands-on workshop, you'll build your own atlatl—a prehistoric spear-throwing tool that dramatically increased power, speed, and accuracy long before the bow and arrow. Once you've built your atlatl, you can put your new skills to the test in a friendly target challenge. Whether you're a history buff, outdoor enthusiast, maker, or just looking for a unique experience with friends, this event delivers creativity, competition, and plenty of fun. No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. Come ready to build, throw, and see why this ancient technology stood the test of time. This hands-on session is geared toward Young Adult Ages 18+. All gear provided. Wear sturdy close-toe shoes and be ready to stand (or bring a camp chair if you prefer). We will meet at the Static Archery Range on J. Thad Ray Conservation Area. Park at the parking lot and follow the mowed trail around to the left. Registration required. KATHI MOORE
