BRUNSWICK, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites participants to a free commercial fishing clinic on the Missouri River in Chariton County on May 15 & 16. Commercial fishing and selling commercial fish are activities that have a long history in Missouri and are still enjoyed by outdoor enthusiasts today. At this program, MDC staff and members of Outdoor Skills of America will discuss all aspects of Missouri’s Commercial Fishing Program. People interested in commercial fishing who want tips on fishing with commercial fishing equipment and preparing commercial fish for use or sale should plan to attend. Campsites available onsite. Participants are also invited to a fish fry on Friday evening. Event Schedule: 5/15/26 4:00pm to 8:00pm 5/16/26 8:00am to 4:00pm Campsites available onsite. Participants are also invited to a fish fry on Friday evening. The program will include discussions on commercial fishing ethics, regulations, and fishery management. Participants will be introduced the basics of commercial fishing as multiple equipment types and styles of sets will be demonstrated as well as fish handling, cleaning, and care. Joe McMullen
