Are you interested in the shooting sports, but have no experience? Here’s your opportunity! All necessary equipment will be provided.

Join the Missouri Department of Conservation for a beginner program on shooting sports. The program will take place on February 11, from 5:30-7:30 at the Boone County Nature School. This program includes firearm safety, operation, shooting fundamentals, maintenance, and safe storage. Other topics to be covered include stance, grip, eye dominance determination, breath control, and trigger squeezing. Firearms to be covered include handguns, rifles, and shotguns. We will cover the types of ammunition and how to match, the purpose of each firearm, actions, types of targets, and recreational options. The minimum age for this event is 12. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. This event will take place at the Boone County Nature School, located at 8989 S Tom Bass Rd. Columbia, MO 65203.
