Join us at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area for the first ever Winter Edition of Camp Hellbender - No Newts Allowed! Camp Hellbender is designed to let adults feel like a kid again and have some fun outdoors while exploring some of the best conservation areas in the region that MDC has to offer. For this special winter camp, we'll spend the morning indoors learning the basics of knife sharpening. We will provide the stones, and you can bring along your favorite hunting or filleting knife (straight blade, non-serrated). After lunch, we are going to take a hike off the beaten path and discover why it is a unique experience to leave the paved trail. Please bring a water bottle, lunch, and any snacks you may want. Refrigeration will be available if needed. Please dress in layers to ensure comfort for both inside and outside portions of the camp. This program is part of our ongoing Camp Hellbender Series! Campers will receive a sticker to commemorate each camp they attend throughout the year. Anna Cooke
