| This program is hosted by the Webster Groves Nature Study Society Nature Book Group. Have you read about the idea that urban raccoons may be self-domesticating, which involves changing certain traits that reduce their aggressiveness. And bears in Italy living near people are becoming less aggressive, possibly due to the aggressive ones getting hunted. This month we discuss the second half of Tamed: Ten Species That Changed Our World, written by Alice Roberts, which looks at the domestication of chickens, rice, horses, apples and humans. Yes, see what she thinks about how we domesticated humans. Do you or your family or friends own or run a farm. Come discuss your experiences. |
