Have you ever used a fish as a paintbrush? You will at this program! Come learn the traditional Japanese art of gyotaku, where science, storytelling, and creativity meet! Hone your printing skills in this class with replicas of Missouri's common fish. But the fun doesn't stop with these fake fish. We'll demonstrate how to take your caught and cleaned fish from the pond, to a print, before you enjoy it on your plate. Family friendly art event, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Our host location will have a selection of Japanese items from the museum's collection to view during the event in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Sara L Parks
