Spring brings warm, wet weather...which means salamanders are on the move! The best time to find spotted salamanders is during their annual migration to their breeding ponds, which occurs on the first warm, rainy evenings of spring. Join us at Runge as we explore the migration and breeding habits of these fascinating, secretive amphibians. Because this event depends on very specific weather conditions, it will be scheduled on short notice and may occur on any day of the week. Participants will be contacted by phone and email on the morning of the program with the confirmed start time. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for wet and muddy conditions.
