Join the Missouri Department of Conservation and teachers from the Boone County Nature School for a sweet lesson in syrup. Learn the history of maple sugaring and the techniques used to harvest from Missouri's native maple trees. Participants will learn how to set up and tap the trees and then discuss the cooking process. Instructors will offer samples of some of Mid-Missouri's finest maple syrup. Most of this program will be outdoors in the forest on uneven terrain, please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear BRIAN D FLOWERS
