The approaching autumnal equinox on September 22 will mark the first day of fall. The low angle of the sun this time of year makes for bright blue skies and more vibrant red and orange foliage. Take a walk to the confluence to watch the September full Corn Moon - sometimes called Harvest Moon - as it rises over the cool waters of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Spend a few minutes at the confluence and then return to lot "L" to watch the sun set over some of this year's last golden fields. Meet at lot "L", about 4 miles from the entrance. Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle and insect repellent. Don't forget your camera! |
