Now that the long and hot summer is past us, it is a good time to meet at Columbia Bottom to enjoy the cooler temperatures and learn about dragonflies. The dragonfly is one of the fastest flying insects, and it has the ability to maneuver in many directions as it catches mosquitoes and other prey midair. They come in a great variety of colors and sizes. Their life cycle is interesting, and some even migrate south for the winter. Bring a sack lunch. Water, coffee, and dessert will be provided. |
