August is hot and the sun is bright, but you can still enjoy nature through something as simple as a craft! Join a Powder Valley naturalist to make your very own cyanotype tote bag. What’s a cyanotype? Cyanotype is a type of printing process using the power of the sun to copy images onto paper or other materials. In our case, a tote bag! Go for a short, shady walk on Tanglevine Trail (1/3-mile loop) to learn about and collect a few samples of Missouri’s native flora, then enjoy arranging your design in the air-conditioned classrooms of Powder Valley. Once your design is arranged, watch the magic of cyanotype printing take place and take home your trendy new tote to remember the magic of Missouri’s forests. All materials will be provided! Please make sure to register all participants in your group. Please meet in the Powder Valley Classrooms C & D at the start of your program. |
