The Missouri Hunter Education Skills Session is the second half of the hunter education certification process after completing one of the knowledge based options. Students must be 11 years of age & older to attend this session.

There will be a Hunter Safety Education Skills Class at the 4-H NRA Building Dysart Memorial Shooting Complex at 24025 N Hwy 65, Marshall, MO. from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. You may bring snacks and drinks. You must have completed the online skills portion or answer all the question in the back of Todays Hunter Book (The book is free). Step #1: The Knowledge Portion Choose ONE of three convenient options to complete the knowledge portion: Online Options - Applicable fee paid to online program provider. Participants can now choose between two online options to complete the knowledge requirement. Both online options meet the Knowledge Portion requirement. Our convenient online/mobile courses are adapted to those with sight and hearing difficulties. They include text, audio, images, graphs, videos, and interactive animation to help you complete all the chapter reviews. You MUST complete all the chapter reviews in order to receive your skills-session qualifier certificate. You MUST print a copy of the skills-session qualifier certificate or display the PDF on your mobile device to enter the skills session. Traditional Knowledge Course – ($24.95) Online textbook-style hunter safety course featuring hundreds of realistic illustrations and animations. Includes everything you need to study for the in-person skills session. Interactive Knowledge Course - ($39.95) This course features a dynamic, video game-type hunter safety experience that is built around real-life scenarios. Students complete in-course lessons and challenges that allow for a higher level of understanding and in-field confidence. Perfect for all ages! Our interactive hunter education course focuses on real-life scenarios and features learning challenges and assessments to measure your progress. Self-Study Guide - Free Order a study guide online or pick one up at a Missouri Department of Conservation office. Study the illustrated manual, complete all chapter review questions, and present to the instructor at the skills session. Classroom Session - Free Register and attend a four-hour classroom session featuring lectures and videos. You MUST attend the session, complete all student manual chapter review questions, and present to the instructor at the skills session. Note: Anyone age 16 or older at the time of registration who completes the online portion does not need to complete Step #2. Step #2: Skills Session and Final Exam Register for a skills session and pass the exam No matter how you complete the knowledge session you MUST register for and attend a four-hour skills session. You MUST bring your student manual with all chapter reviews completed or the online skills session qualifier certificate to gain entry. After successfully completing the skills session and passing a 35-question, multiple-choice final with a score of 80 percent or better, you will receive a temporary certificate so you can purchase a permit and hunt immediately. You must be at least 11 years old to attend the Skills Session. The Hunter Education Skills Session Qualifier Certificate is valid for one year. *Please note that all Skills Session classes are delivered in English* If you are 16 years of age or older when you register for this course, the Skills Session is not required.
