Join our team of MDC Conservation Educators at the Boone County Nature School for a fun and exciting lesson in the basics of fly tying. A pivotal part of fly-fishing is selecting the right fly. There is a seemingly endless selection of fly patterns and materials at your disposal. It’s almost overwhelming, but the good news is tying flies is easy, it’s fun, and with a little practice, you will quickly have a collection of unique, customized fishable lures. In this basic fly-tying course, we’ll cover a few simple proven patterns that are guaranteed to catch fish. We’ll discuss tying flies for a variety of fish species and how to fish them. You’ll learn the basic tools and materials needed to create a selection of flies for almost every condition in Missouri. This program is designed for adults ages 18 and over and all materials will be provided. Space is limited so registration is required to attend this program. This program will be held at the Boone County Nature School located at 8989 South Tom Bass Road, Columbia. BRIAN D FLOWERS
