The rivers of Missouri are narrow and wide, clear and muddy, soft and strong. There is an abundance of variables to these channels that provide to a wide diversity of life. We will explore one of KC’s best known, walkable, river access points, the Blue River Parkway Trailhead in Minor Park. This stretch of river is shallow enough for us to explore on foot yet harbors a wide variety of Missouri native wildlife. Learn about Missouris river ecology while we sample the river for native aquatic critters. What we find may prove the health and quality of our local ecosystem. PFD’s will be available for use if desired. Closed toe shoes required. This program is dependent on weather and river conditions. Participants will be contacted if conditions are not acceptable on the weekend of the event. All participants MUST register separately. |
