Watch the sun as it sets over the Columbia Bottom fields and prairies. Follow a wooded trail to the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers to see the full Beaver Moon rise and cast its silvery beam over the rivers. Listen for the calls of the barred and great horned owls in the trees and the sounds of migrating geese and ducks high overhead. When we return to the parking lot, there may be an opportunity to take a short walk to the cropland overlook and return. Meet at Lot "L", about 4 miles from the front gate. Dress for the weather with boots or shoes that may get wet or muddy. Bring a flashlight and a walking stick if you have one. Sunset: 4:46 pm Moonrise: 5:11 pm |
