Additional Information: | Instructed by: |
Watch the sun go down over the Columbia Bottom fields. Walk by flashlight on a closed road and trail to the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers, listening for the calls of three species of owls and sounds of other creatures of the night. Watch the full Hunter's Moon rise and cast its silvery light over the confluence. We will return in the moonlight, listening and watching for creatures of the night as they are scurrying away. Who knows what we will find on the moonlit trail ahead. Dress for the weather. Wear boots or shoes that can get wet or muddy. Bring a flashlight or lantern, insect repellent, and a walking stick if you have one. Don't forget your camera! Meet at lot "L", about 4.5 miles from the front entrance. Sunset: 6:19pm. Moonrise: 6:57pm. |
