Equipment, Casting, and Proper Fish Handling. How to Tie a Knot and Bait a Hook.

Meet at the fishing dock. Fishing is encouraged but optional. A valid fishing permit is required for Missouri residents ages 16 to 64, and nonresidents ages 16 and up. Permits are available for purchase online. Lesson 1 Casting, and Proper Fish Handling Lesson 2: How to Tie a Knot and Bait a Hook Fishing equipment, instructors/coaches and bait/lures will be provided. Ages 7 and above. All children ages 7-15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Each participant will need to register for this program individually on the Missouri Department of Conservation Discover Fishing website. Email instructor for assistance with registering for this program. |

Location Information Hunnewell Lake Conservation Area covers 1,905 acres and includes a 228-acre lake, and a fish hatchery. The hatchery raises a variety of fish including channel catfish, largemouth bass and bluegill sunfish, walleye, and hybrid sunfish for stocking. |

Directions: From the town of Hunnewell, MO on Hwy 36, take Route Z north 3 miles to the area. The entrance to the area will be on the left hand side of Route Z. |

Age Policy: All registrants for this event must be a minimum age of 7 years old by 6/4/2024. |
