Wolves. The very name can bring excitement to one’s mind. While wolves may seem like something from far away, they were once quite common in Missouri. The red wolf, a cousin of the grey wolves found in western and northern North America, once roamed Missouri landscapes. While extirpated today in Missouri, organizations like the Endangered Wolf Center are keeping this species alive. The Endangered Wolf Center located in Eureka is the only one of its kind in Missouri. Travel with us to take a tour of their facilities and see some of these forgotten species with your very own eyes. Program will meet at the nature center and ride to the Endangered Wolf Center together. |
