Join us at Columbia Bottom Conservation Area for Day 5 of Camp Hellbender-no newts allowed! This summer camp is designed to let adults feel like a kid again and have some fun in the outdoors while exploring some of the best conservation areas in the region that MDC has to offer! At Columbia Bottom CA, we will be meeting at the Visitor's Center to carpool to the trailhead for a guided walk to the Confluence, where we will do some birding and take in the views of the rivers. This will be followed by a Bumblebee Survey in the famous Sunflower Field. Afterwards we will break for lunch in the classroom, where will end our day with an Owl Pellet dissection. Please bring a water bottle and a lunch. Refrigeration will be available if needed. Sunscreen, a hat, and sturdy shoes for walking are recommended. This program is part of our ongoing Camp Hellbender Series! We encourage you to participate in as many Camp days as you’d like. Registration is required for each individual camp. Campers will receive a special badge to commemorate each activity they participate in throughout the summer, and all Campers will be invited back for our Closing Campfire at the end of the Summer!
