Additional Information: Instructed by:
The atlatl is an ancient hunting tool that pre-dates even the bow and arrow. Atlatls are used to throw long spear-like darts much further and faster than spears thrown by hand. Throwing with an atlatl is a fun and challenging activity for people of all ages. Sign up for this free program to learn more about this ingenious piece of primitive technology and to try your hand at the long-lost skill of throwing a dart. Participants will be instructed on the basics of throwing with an atlatl and have an opportunity to throw at targets. This program will also include a flintknapping demonstration from MDC Volunteer and primitive skills instructor Larry Maggard. Jordan M Poe
