Note: This program takes place at Three Creeks Conservation Area (Boone County). All participants must have a parent or guardian present during the program. Participants will need to provide their own transportation to the site. Get ready to explore a Missouri cave! Join Runge naturalists as we discover the natural wonders inside Hunter’s Cave at Three Creeks Conservation Area (Boone County). Pack a water bottle and dress for the weather. Caves are typically 55-57 degrees F, so you may wish to bring an additional layer. Rubber boots or sturdy closed-toe shoes that can get wet are required. A good portion of the caving experience will require walking in chilly water. Hard hats and flashlights will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Access to the cave requires a 15-minute hike in hilly terrain and entering a small gate with an opening that is approximately three feet tall and two feet wide. Details will be emailed to participants prior to the program including directions where to meet at Three Creeks. Contact the instructor if you have questions or concerns regarding the experience.
