Did you know that coyotes play an important role in the wildlife community? Where do they spend most of their time? Learn the answers to these and other questions about these shy and elusive creatures that are more often heard than seen. Examine a coyote pelt and feel the sharp edges of their teeth in a coyote skull to know why they are such successful hunters. Meet at the old Visitor Center. After learning about these little “prairie wolves”, as Lewis and Clark called them, we will take a walk along a prairie to listen for coyotes and we may try our own calls to see if they will answer us. Return to the building for hot chocolate. |
