Many people love spending time in the outdoors in hopes of viewing wildlife, but have you ever had the desire to make bird or animal calls with your own voice to see if you could call them in? Well, here’s your chance!! Come join us at Shaw Nature Reserve to learn about barred owls, what sounds they make, how to duplicate those sounds with your own voice ------ and then try to call a barred owl into viewing distance!!! No guarantees, but it’s fun and exciting to try calling an owl and at least get it to respond. Even if we aren’t successful on this night, you will leave with the knowledge and skills to try it on your own another time. The entire program will be in an outdoor setting, starting under a pavilion while it’s still daylight and then calling into the evening hours as night-time approaches. Things to bring: Proper clothing and footwear – Dress for the weather as we will be out in the field and woods. Bug spray if desired (bug spray will not be provided so bring your own) Bottled Water – Bring your own Small Flashlight to walk after dark Outdoor chair for the first part of the program. So come join us Tuesday July 26, 2022 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Shaw Nature Reserve. More specific directions will be emailed to the participants the evening before the program . Please provide a good phone contact in case of cancellation. Should the program be cancelled due to bad weather, there will be a make up "rain date" of Thursday July 28th, so put that date on your calendar as well. CONRAD L MALLADY
