MILKWEED: MORE THAN MONARCHES Did you know there are eleven species of milkweed (family Asclepiadaceae) in Missouri? These plants are critical to the survival of the Monarch butterfly. Look closely and you will also find tussock moth caterpillars, long horn milkweed beetles, spiders on the hunt, and an amazing array of other critters that depend on milkweed. Runge volunteer Judith Deel will discuss the various species of milkweeds, where each is found, and what critters live on and around each of them. This program is part of Runge Nature Center’s monthly series, Amazing Native Gardens. Registration required. Ages 14+ Becky Matney
