Come learn about fisheries, wildlife, and protection management at Little Prairie Conservation Area on June 30th. Experience fishing from a boat with MDC staff, complete lake to fork shoreline meal of fish and frog legs, followed by frog gigging from a Jon boat after sunset. You will learn not only how to harvest aquatic game but how to clean and prepare a meal with it. The program will start at 5 pm and conclude at 11 pm on June 30 (opening day of frog season). Parent / guardian must be present during the entire event. This opportunity is for eight youth between the ages of 8-15 years old. Interested youth are asked to apply by submitting a short 100-word essay as to why they should be selected. Application essay should be submitted to: Dwight.Warnke@mdc.mo.gov by June 21st. The eight selected participants will be notified by June 23rd with full program details. Directions:

From Rolla, take the north outer road of I-44 east about 5 miles, then Route RA north to the area. Take second entrance road on left which leads to boat ramp.

Age Policy:

All registrants for this event must be between 8 and 15 years of age by 7/1/2022.
