Ready to explore a Missouri cave? Join Runge naturalists as we discover the natural wonders inside Hunter’s Cave at Three Creeks Conservation Area. Runge will provide round-trip transportation (meet at Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City) to and from the cave. Please pack a water bottle and dress for the weather. Caves are typically 55 – 57 degrees Fahrenheit, so you may wish to bring an additional layer. Rubber boots or sturdy close-toe shoes that can get wet are required. A good portion of the caving experience will require walking in chilly water. Hard hats and flashlights will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Access to the cave requires a 15-minute hike in hilly terrain and entering a small gate with an opening that is approximately three feet tall and two feet wide. Signed permission forms are required for all participants under the age of 18, unless a parent or guardian is also a participant in the program.
