The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free workshop on the basics of fly tying on Saturday, April 2nd 10 a.m.–12:00 pm, at Runge Conservation Nature Center in Jefferson City. This workshop will provide the tools and expert coaching to use specialized tools to create your own fly-fishing flies and you will keep the flies you tie. MDC invites participants ages 10 years and older to attend these workshops. Participants younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult who also registers for the program. Participants should bring reading glasses if they require them and a curiosity for tying flies. MDC will provide all other equipment and supplies. Fishing is a great way for everyone to have fun outdoors, learn about conservation, and make lasting memories in nature. For more information, contact MDC Conservation Educator Jenna Stiek at (573) 815-7900 ext. 2886, or Jenna.Stiek@mdc.mo.gov Jenna Stiek
