Which Missouri mammal is more at home in the water than on land? Who are known as “nature’s engineers”? Beavers! Beavers earned this distinction for their ability to alter their environment and to meet their needs while providing diversity to plant and animal life. We will be looking for evidence and results of their work. We will take a short walk to see some awesome results of their recent activity. Wear layers of warm clothes and boots or shoes that can get muddy. Bring a walking stick if you have one. Meet just inside the front entrance gate at Columbia Bottom. MDC asks all participants to observe current local social distancing and masking guidelines. Bringing and wearing face coverings is encouraged when appropriate. Patricia A Behle
