Join us to learn the ancient art of flintknapping! Flintknapping is the process of chipping away materials from flint, chert, obsidian, glass, and other high silica materials in a controlled manner to make sharp tools. Class will be outdoors around fire pits; but warmth, classroom space, and restrooms are just inside the Waynesville Rural Fire District Training Center on location. Please dress for whatever weather conditions may develop for this event date! We will be social distancing and following COVID-19 guidance. Gloves and goggles will be worn during the entirety of the class. Please bring along water, leather gloves, rubber/polyurethane coated work gloves, and goggles. Gloves and goggles can be provided to use during the class, if needed. Dwight Warnke
