| Come to Forest Park to learn the basics of fishing: how to bait a line, tie a hook, cast, and unhook a fish. This is a family event designed for children 15 and under. If you are 16 or older, you must have a fishing license to cast. Without a fishing license, you may help your child bait the line and unhook the fish only. Fishing poles, bait, and gear will be provided. We will be outside in full sun; please bring sunscreen, a water bottle, and wear appropriate clothing for outdoor adventuring in the heat. Please note: This program will be conducted by Powder Valley staff AT FOREST PARK HATCHERY. |

Location Information Originally established in 1879, the Forest Park Hatchery was the first fish culture activity in Missouri. Today this fish hatchery is no longer operated for fish farming but rather for educational programming. |
