Cooking outdoors is a great compliment to many other outdoor activities. Whether you are camping, fishing, hunting, or enjoying your backyard, this program will add another element to your outdoor experience.
Additional Information: Instructed by:
Have you ever wanted to learn to cook outdoors? Join us at Powder Valley Nature Center to learn about cooking with a Dutch oven. The first part of this program will take place in our nature center as we go through the fundamentals and equipment needed for the art of the Dutch oven. After our brief lecture, we will head outdoors for an interactive Dutch oven-cooking session. We will make chili, cinnamon rolls, and a dump cake. We will finish the program off with a feast of the food we made! We will meet in classrooms C & D to start the program. Participants should wear a mask, practice social distancing and be sure to wear appropriate clothes for the weather as we will go outside for the cooking portion which will take place rain or shine. If participants have food allergies, please email the instructor before the program. Holly Balassi
