Registration required (adults: ages 14-17 with an adult mentor) When we think about floating in Missouri many of us head to the cold clear waters of the Ozarks. Did you know we have some local rivers you can get on just minutes away? These rivers run muddy, but the landscape can still let you escape without the driving effort. Join conservation educators to learn about a local tributary to the Missouri rive, the Platte River, in Platte Falls Conservation Area. Participants may use their own kayak or canoe, but canoes can be provided along with paddles and lifejackets and you must notify the instructors of your needs, if needed. Bring snacks and plenty to drink as no food or drink will be provided. Social distancing will be observed, and face coverings are optional. Participants will be e-mailed the location and other details. Prior paddling experience is preferred. This is an all outdoor program so dress for the weather. You will receive an e-mail from the instructor the day prior to the event if weather conditions indicate a need to cancel the program. Kathleen Savaiano
