Missouri’s bald eagles are a national treasure. Come paddle with your Department of Conservation as eagles soar and chatter among the cypress trees of Duck Creek Conservation Area. We may even get a distant glimpse of the newest generation of hatchlings! This program is designed for our Conservation Kids (ages 7-11) and their guardians. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY TO ENSURE PROPER REGISTRATION: To sign up for this program please register with your child’s name only. Your child’s name will reserve a canoe for up to 3 people total. One adult over the age of 18 is required to be with their child at all times. If your family includes multiple children ages 7-11 you may register for two canoes, but will need an adult in each canoe. Canoes, paddles, lifejackets, and binoculars will be provided. Please dress for early spring weather including shoes which may get wet, bring a water bottle, snacks, and protection from sun. Social distancing will be practiced at all times, and masks are recommended during instruction portion and canoe loading. Participants are asked to meet at the entrance to the conservation area in the large parking lot off Hwy 51 south of Arab, Missouri. We will then drive to the canoe location as a caravan. If you have any questions about registration or the event itself please call the Cape Girardeau Nature Center at 573-290-5218. Alex Holmes
