Registration required (ages 16+) The peregrine falcon is the fastest wildlife species know in the world with flight speeds exceeding 200 mph. The species was highly impacted by the widespread use of pesticides like DDT found in their food chain from the 1940's to the 1960's and the peregrine falcon remains threatened or endangered in many Midwestern states today. Recovery programs like Missouri's are helping bring back the peregrine falcon to historic numbers that exceed natural history data.
