Freshwater Jellyfish are a tiny, stalked form of the jellyfish that lives as colonies attached to stable underwater surfaces such as rooted plants, rocks, or tree stumps. Join us for kayaking on Tom Sawyer Lake to see and learn more about these fascinating creatures that can be found in Missouri. We will meet at Tom Sawyer Lake in Mark Twain State Park. Tom Sawyer Lake is located on the same road as the Mark Twain Birthplace Historic Site. Both can be found using google maps. Kayaks and life jackets will be provided, though you may bring your own. There is no age restriction to attend the program, however the participant must be 8 years old to use the kayaks. You MUST REGISTER at mdc.mo.gov/events by 5pm, September 16th. Class is limited to 16 participants (this includes adults & children). If you need help registering your child, please email the email address listed below. |
