MDC is accepting applications for a free, one-day Discover Nature Youth Camp on Saturday, June 20 in Lee’s Summit at the James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This camp is aimed at teaching youth ages 11 to 15 how to explore Missouri’s diverse outdoors using skills such as fishing, firearms safety, shooting, and water safety. Space is limited to the first 16 girls and 16 boys that submit completed and signed applications. Participants accepted to attend must complete the first portion of MDC’s hunter education class online and submit results to MDC prior to the camp. The final portion of hunter education will be completed during camp. The deadline to apply is May 1.
