Thursday: February 27: 6 to 7:30pm (Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center); Saturday: February 29:12 to 4pm (Cliff Cave at Cliff Cave County Park). (Ages 5 and up) Reservations begin January 15 Come and join us as we discuss the caves and cave life of Missouri and why we need to protect this unique ecosystem. We will meet at Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center on Thursday, February 27th at 6pm to briefly go over caves and safety. We will meet at Cliff Cave at Cliff Cave County Park in South County on Saturday, February 29th at 12pm (noon) for the field trip portion where we will survey different cave biology as well as learning how graffiti is removed from the cave. Please dress in layers and dress warm. Bring an extra change of clothes, water and snacks/lunch. Helmets and one flashlight will be provided. Please wear rubber boots as well as bring 2 additional sources of light (such as headlamps or flashlights). ***Field trip portion will be canceled in heavy rain, or inclement weather such as heavy snow or ice. ***If large clusters of bats are encountered, the field trip portion will be cut short. ***Must attend the classroom session in order to attend the field trip portion. ***Register each person individually Shelly Colatskie

All registrants for this event must be between 5 and 100 years of age by 2/27/2020.
