Thursday, October 3 6:30-9:30 PM, Friday, October 4 8 AM-5 PM and Saturday, October 5 8 AM-4 PM (this is a 3 day program) Registration begins September 1 (ages 15+) Explore the history of archery in North America from raw material harvest to bow design and performance. Then, using only hand tools and patience, craft your own hickory longbow work of art. Cost for materials is $110. Checks should be made to MCHF and mailed or brought to the Nature Center before the class to complete your registration. Woodworking skills recommended. This program requires stamina and upper arm strength. Lists of references and resources for making future bows on your own will be provided. If you have questions call 573-290-5218. |
