Learn canoeing basics as we explore Lake Springfield. We will meet at the Southwood Access and go over canoeing strokes and safety before heading out on the water. Dress for the weather and wear shoes that can get wet. PFDs (Personal Floatation Devices) will be provided. To reach Southwood Access (on the east side of Lake Springfield, just west of the Highway 65 bridge) take the Evans Road exit off Highway 65. Then, travel west on Evans Road, and then north on Southwood Road. Ages 18-adult. Register online at mdc.mo.gov/SouthwestEvents or call 417-888-4237 for more information. |
