(Ages 6 -16) Armadillos are mammals. Strange mammals! Our nine-banded armadillos have armor-plated bodies but can roll up nearly into a ball. When startled, they can jump 4 feet straight up in the air. They have exactly four identical babies at a time. In many ways they are very different from most other mammals.
