Prescribed burning can be a valuable tool for managing native plant diversity and controlling undesirable vegetation, but it can be dangerous and ineffective when not used properly. This workshop will provide basic information about how to plan and execute a prescribed burn for grassland management.

The workshop will cover proper methods and techniques used for implementing controlled burns, burn equipment and how it is used, and developing burn plans. Please wear leather boots, blue jeans, long sleeve shirts, and leather gloves if you plan to attend the live prescribed fire demonstration. A lunch will be provided following the classroom portion. If you register but are unable to attend, please remove yourself from the list to allow others on the waiting list to join. Seth Barrioz
