Ages 12-17 with an adult or 18+ Are you physically fit and looking for a more strenuous and challenging off-trail experience? This opportunity of applying map interpretation to the land awaits you for a 4 to 6 mile off trail trek In Weldon Spring CA. You will work with our Naturalists to read land forms from a topo map, and find various landmarks, graveyards, and remnants of settlers’ homesteads in the rugged and steep woods of Weldon. This naturalist lead program is designed for those who have a working knowledge of an orienteering compass and desire more experience at reading a map. *****Program meets at August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area. Participants will move to Weldon Springs after an introduction in the main building. Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous / up and down the rolling hills of Weldon Spring Conservation Area |
