Candy is a fiber artist, quilter, author and teacher. She exhibits and sells fiber art and quilts, teaching quilting and fiber arts locally and regionally. She is also a Teacher Naturalist at Shaw Nature Reserve and often combines her love of fabric and nature. While teaching quilting for several years she has developed a passion for turning the traditional into something new and exciting. Her first book, Reimagined Dresden, will be published in 2019 by C & T Publishing. Her fiber art is contemporary and often explores new techniques and presentations with themes of nature, maps and circles. She makes her home in the woods in Franklin County as well as in the city of St. Louis, MO. At Powder Valley I will do a hands-on demonstration using small bits and scraps of fabric to create a landscape/treescape. The project can be done at home with fabric, paper, stitch or glue and is fun for all ages. Shelly Colatskie
