No trail to follow on this two to three mile, off trail hiking experience at the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area! Day 1, Nov. 3rd: Learn to use a map and compass for navigation while in the classroom. Test new skills at finding fixed landmarks out in nature while off-trail. Day 2, Nov. 10: Return with your family to navigate the same course as Day 1… only this time… at night! Armed with flashlights, laser pointers, maps, compasses and each other for an unforgettable family outing. Effort = Easy to Moderate. Two to three miles over gentle hills. Briars and thick vegetation is present but can be avoided. Sturdy outdoor footwear and outdoor clothing to match outdoor conditions of the event. Flashlight required for 2nd day of this event. The above is the responsibility of the participant. Suggestions but not required: Water, snack, hiking stick, wool socks. Nichole Wheaton
